There are two ways to install updates to HQ software:
From the support website:
- Check your software version in the app:
- Help > About
- Check for an updated version and download:
- https://support.seesnake.com/hq-for-pcs/
- Open the download and install the update
From the HQ app
- Open HQ and check for an update:
- Updates > Update HQ Software
- After downloading the update HQ will initiate the install process, follow the on-screen prompts to install
If the installation stalls and/or you receive an error message that “hqx service helper” can’t be closed:
- Type "service" in the Windows command bar, then press Enter
- Find "SeeScan HQx Service" in the list and click on it
- Look for the STOP icon above the list of services and click it to end the service
- Close the Services window
- If the installation doesn’t resume and complete on its own, cancel the installation and run it again
NOTE: if these steps don’t allow you to install HQ from within the app, reboot your PC, download the update from the support site, and try again.
