Updating HQ for Windows

There are two ways to install updates to HQ software:


From the support website:

  1. Check your software version in the app: 
    • Help > About
  2. Check for an updated version and download:
    • https://support.seesnake.com/hq-for-pcs/
  3. Open the download and install the update


From the HQ app

  1. Open HQ and check for an update: 
    • Updates > Update HQ Software
  2. After downloading the update HQ will initiate the install process, follow the on-screen prompts to install


If the installation stalls and/or you receive an error message that “hqx service helper” can’t be closed:

  1. Type "service" in the Windows command bar, then press Enter
  2. Find "SeeScan HQx Service" in the list and click on it
  3. Look for the STOP icon above the list of services and click it to end the service
  4. Close the Services window
  5. If the installation doesn’t resume and complete on its own, cancel the installation and run it again

NOTE: if these steps don’t allow you to install HQ from within the app, reboot your PC, download the update from the support site, and try again.
