Wi-Fi Setup – Connect to Your SeeSnake Equipment

These instructions show how to connect a phone or tablet to your SeeSnake camera system using the free HQx Live companion app for Android and iOS.

Pre-Checks

  • Confirm your SeeSnake supports Wi-Fi (look for the Wi-Fi logo)
  • Install HQx Live (if already installed, check your app store for a newer version)

Setup

  1. Power on your SeeSnake device and wait for it to start up.
Note: Wi-Fi-enabled devices without a built-in screen, like the CSx Via, have blue (Wi-Fi) and green (sonde) status LEDs that flash alternately for about 20 seconds while starting up. When the green LED stops flashing the device is ready to connect.
  2. Open HQx Live. When your device name appears, tap it to connect.
Note: If your device name doesn’t appear, either: open the left-hand Quick Access menu and tap the camera reel icon, or open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and look for your SeeSnake in the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
  3. The first time you connect, your phone or tablet will ask for a few permissions so the app can find your device and show video — allow these permissions to complete the connection.

iOS

  1. Join the network when prompted.
  2. The first time you connect, iOS will display a dialog asking permission for HQx Live to find and connect to devices on your network – you must grant this permission to stay connected.

Android

  1. When your Wi-Fi settings open, wait for your SeeSnake device name to appear, then tap it to connect.
  2. Go back to HQx Live — video should start within a few seconds.
  3. When you see a pop-up asking about internet access, choose Connect this time or Stay connected. Do not choose Allow Switch – this will disconnect your SeeSnake device.

Trouble Connecting?

If your device doesn’t appear, or you connect but don’t see video, see Troubleshooting – Wi-Fi Connection Issues.
