How to Update Your CSx Via Software

This article walks you through the process of updating your CSx Via software.

Install and Configure HQx Live

1. Install or update to the latest version of HQx Live
2. Set HQx Live to allow software downloads over mobile data
   Menu > Updates > change Wi-Fi Only to Cell Data (iOS) or Data Allowed (Android)

Connect to your CSx Via

1. Remove the battery from other nearby CSx Via units (ensures you don’t connect to a different unit by mistake)
2. Connect your CSx Via to a camera reel
3. Open HQx Live, wait for your CSx Via to appear as an available device (3 – 8 sec
4. Tap on its icon – the unit will power ON

iOS

1. When prompted, tap Join Network
2. If asked, please allow HQx Live to Connect to devices on your network (if you say no HQx Live will not connect to your Via)

Android

1. Your phone’s Wi-Fi settings will open
2. When the CSx Via appears as an available network (~20 sec) tap to connect
3. Navigate back to HQx Live

• After connecting you should see the live video stream from the camera (may take several seconds to appear)
• If you receive a warning that the CSx Via doesn’t provide Internet access choose Allow Once, Stay Connected, or Connect Anyway, do not choose Allow Switch or you will be disconnected from your CSx Via

Update the CSx Via software

1. In HQx Live, open Menu > Updates
2. Identify the unit you are currently connected to by its name and serial number – “CSxVia 103-002331”, for example –  and tap its image icon

• The update will download to the app, then transfer to the Via
• The red progress bar shows when software transfer to the Via is complete

1. After the update has transferred to the Via, wait ~15 sec then cycle the power OFF/ON with the Power key

Confirm the update

1. Connect to the CSx Via as before
2. Open Menu > SeeSnakes, look for the Via you just updated (identify units by their s/n), and confirm that the new software is installed
