Battery-Related Symptoms

Loss of time/date
Loss of drum/cable parameters
Inaccurate distance readings
Dead battery symbol at the top of your monitor screen (CountPlus)
On-screen ERROR1 or ERROR2 messages (CountIR)
Battery Replacement
Tools:
Small Philips screwdriver
Small flat blade screwdriver
Use the correct battery type:
CountIR → CR2032
CountPlus → CR2450
After replacement, set the time/date and drum/cable parameters; failure to set the drum/cable parameters will cause inaccurate distance readings
Steps
The battery is located on the circuit board inside the CountPlus and CountIR housing. The housing is secured to the camera reel with four Philips head screws, and a rubber seal is used to prevent water/dust intrusion.
- Remove the four screws and pull the housing down
NOTE: the four stainless steel nuts in the top of the housing are loosely press fit into the housing and can be easily dislodged when the the screws are removed - Remove and replace the battery
- The + (positive) side of the battery faces the center of the unit
- Avoid finger oil on the flat surfaces of the battery
- CAREFULLY seat the rubber seal (not pinched, no bulges)
- When replacing the screws:
- The nuts in the top of the housing are easily dislodged; use a small, flat blade screwdriver to hold them in place when replacing the screws.
- DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN; if the seal starts to bulge, back off the screws
- Reprogram the time, date, reel type, and actual cable length (if unsure, lay the cable out and measure it)
- TEST the system:
- Cycle the power and confirm the time/date and drum/cable settings are saved
- Spool cable out/in to ensure count is working and accurate
