Cold weather storage and operation

Avoid storing your equipment in a cold environment overnight. Liquid Crystal Display screens in particular can be negatively affected by low temperatures. In low temperature environments LCD screens may respond slowly or completely freeze up. The screen may work properly once it warms up or it may become permanently damaged depending on the temperature and length of exposure.

The storage and operating temperature will vary from screen to screen. Consumer grade electronics may have a narrower operating range compared to industrial grade equipment. As an example, Samsung LCD TVs have a stated operating range of 50° F to 104° F (10° C to 40° C) and the SeeSnake CS6x Versa has an operating range of 14° F to 122° F (-10° C to 50° C).
